A Year In Review
Dec 31, 20182018 was a very different year for me.
A new business was launched, I officially became an author, and I launched a new Abundance Masterclass to offer MindScape students. At times it felt as though books were taking over my life and choking out Inner Compass Academy. But, upon teaching a MindScape class, I quickly realized that without the tools I teach, practice, and use in Inner Compass Academy, I would have never even attempted to do what I have done this past year.
Without using MindScape and BodyTalk to dismantle the false beliefs that are steering my decisions, there is no chance in hell that I would have opened up to this new endeavor as a remote possibility. Without being aware of how the left and right brains work independently and also as a whole, I would have never caught on when my ego was getting flared, when fear was beginning to derail me, or when I was starting to forget just how magical the human mind really is. While I did not teach as many MindScape seminars in 2018, the potency of the tools and my appreciation for the awareness they bring did not falter one bit.
Perhaps you'd like to come learn MindScape for yourself and open up to the potential that is waiting inside you. While you ponder that, here is a year of a new heart-fueled endeavor:
A Year in Review: Inner Compass Books One year ago, Inner Compass Books was born, all because of taking a chance on an idea. To say it was an adventurous ride would be a massive understatement. It was a plunge into unknown waters that, while at times was scary as hell, stretched me to grow, fostered courage, and challenged me to unravel a whole lot of fear and false beliefs. There were a few key lessons I learned in 2018, which were that following your inner compass, believing in your vision, and stretching your comfort zone were a few of the key factors in bringing this new endeavor to life. But, more importantly were the tools for self awareness that helped to deconstruct the fears and limiting beliefs that kill more dreams than anything else. Thank goodness because had I not been using MindScape and the self-awareness that I teach, I would have fallen ill to many ego derailments along the way. Jumping into starting Inner Compass Books was a bit of a leap of faith. I had no idea what I was getting myself into. I knew nothing about the book world, let alone the self-publishing world. I didn't know how emotionally challenging the creative process would be. (Apparently I was very trusting of my inner compass!) I just gave it a try, held the vision, took it one step at a time and didn't let fear get in my way (for very long, anyways). 2018 stretched me in ways that I was not expecting. I learned to become way more comfortable with vulnerability. I put myself out there A LOT. I asked many questions. I questioned what I was thinking. I doubted. I wondered what on Earth I was doing. And during each of those times, I noticed that my ego was scared and was doing its best to protect me. After all, that is its job. However, I didn't allow my ego to rule the roost by taking its warnings as truths... instead, I took them as clues to discover a deeply held fear within myself. Here's what transpired for Inner Compass Books in 2018: > Hired an employee AND a bookkeeper
> TWO Children's Books Released (Your Inner Compass That Could & Mayva O'Meere, Creationeer) > 3 TV appearances > Tellwell's Author of the Month for April > Book Launch for Your Inner Compass That Could with 60+ attendees > McNally Robinson's Bestseller List for 2 weeks in a row. > Fringe Festival Vendor > Attended 5 Tradeshows > Over 1500 books sold > 18 school visits: 760 students, 52 teachers
I share all of this to simply demonstrate just what could be possible for anyone going after a new dream in completely uncharted territory. Are there things I could have done better? Probably. But all in all, I'm going into 2019 with a happy heart and a soul fire that is inspired to keep on building this dream. My point is, you do not have to know exactly what you're doing before you dive in. You actually can't know everything anyways until you're knee deep in the messy goodness of moving towards your heart-fueled vision. You can't wait until you have a guarantee that it's all going to work out perfectly. The key is alignment, passion, and commitment to your dream. You will learn along the way, of that there is no doubt. You will be tested and challenged, of course. In those times, it is vital to be true to your heart, your vision, and choose courage over fear. Trust that you've got everything you need inside of you.
