I'll Spend {Poem}
Mar 10, 2019I’ve spent most of my life:
Battling the ego that’s in my head. Overthinking—awake in bed. Playing it safe, don’t go making waves. Don’t go wandering in unknown caves.
Tippy toeing, saving face. Wearing masks, keeping up my pace.
Proving my worth, got to achieve. Checking off boxes, don’t know what to believe.
Hiding my pain, stuffing it low. Avoiding judgment—ya, how’d that go?
Tried fitting in. I can’t play meek and mild. Found my truth, I’m a wild child.
So, I’ll spend the rest of my life:
Trusting my gut, blowing my mind. Living the life that my soul designed. Choosing courage in spite of fear; Seeing my truth in every mirror.
Feeling every breath I breathe. Embodying every part of me. Living my dreams, I will not stop. Savouring each and every drop.
